Types of Brake Service
There are two common brake services that your Volvo will need throughout its lifespan. These are brake pad replacements and brake rotor replacements. With brake pads, you generally should get them replaced every 30,000 to 50,000 miles. With rotors, a replacement every 50,000 to 70,000 miles is recommended.
Signs Brake Service is Needed
There are multiple indicators your brake pads or rotors should be replaced, or you need general brake checks to brake fluid or the braking system. This includes hearing noises that often resemble squeaking or squealing. These can happen as you drive, or when you stop. You'll also notice that if your stopping power is diminished, you should get your brakes checked for repairs and maintenance too. Rattling and clicking noises are also other signs and so too is a vibrating or pulsating brake pedal when you press it.
You can also do a self-inspection. Through your wheel covers, you can see the condition of your rotors and brake pads. If they look worn down, it's a good time to make an appointment to have them replaced with us here at the dealership.
